Learn Landshape — Clone. Clone Nonterrain Border

Clone Nonterrain Border

Identify perimeter within current selection, and create copy of it.

Useful to quickly extract the valid perimeter from any selected group. Should work on any geometry except terrain.

Type:  Clone
Menu:  Extensions > Landshape > Clone > Clone Nonterrain Border

What Is a Perimeter?

A Border, sometimes also called perimeter or Bounds, is a continuous, well-formed closed edgepath.

A well-formed border should not contain gaps, overlaps, self-crossings.

A well-formed border can be non-planar, and both convex and concave.

Borders are useful to limit the area of influence for Landshape commands. They are also useful for many other things.

Why Clone Border?

The purpose of cloning the border is to reuse the clone as input for other Landshape commands.

Also, it can be useful to check whether the current selection in fact has a well-formed border.
