Learn Landshape — Pick. Overview

Pick Menu Overview

The Pick menu collects Landshape's core terrain editing features.

In Pick, you will find Landshape's most powerful and defining features. These are also some of the most frequently used commands.

What Pickers Can Do

Pick includes commands that let you:

  • Create new terrain, like Form.
  • Remesh existing terrain, like Mesh.
  • Express sharp terrain features, like Embed.
  • Shape terrain accurately, like Fit, Blend, Grade.
  • Style terrain with materials, like Zone.

Where to Find Pickers

All core pickers are listed in Sketchup's menu:
Extensions > Holygon Landshape > Pick

There is a top menu, a right-click context menu, and a toolbar, all called "Pick". All three contain the same commands.

Pickers Require Valid Input Geometry

Pick commands require input geometry. The geometry should typically be grouped. Different Pick commands have different requirements on input. Some take edges, others faces, others closed edgeloops, and so on.

To learn valid input, simply hover a Picker toolbar icon. Its tooltip should summarize valid input.

Also, each command page below explains in detail the requirements and effect of each of Landshape's Pick commands.

Pickers Are a Family

For an overview of what all Pickers have in common, read Understanding Pick Commands.

Befriend a few Pick commands, and you're pretty well positioned to start landshaping like a master.

😎 Pro Tip – If you find yourself often using a certain command, set a custom shortcut for it. It's so much faster. Set a shortcut via Sketchup menu:
Window > Preferences > Shortcuts

– Ready to Pick your favorites?
