Import Menu Overview
In Compfire, you can import Items in several ways.
This is by design, to cater to different modelling styles. In addition to visually browsing the Finder, and drag-and-dropping items into your model, you can also import Items via Import menus. In Compfire, there are two Import menus.
Import via Context Menu
Import via the Context menu by simply right-clicking
on any Sketchup geometry in the viewport. The context menu path is:Compfire > Import > ...
The context menu has the advantage of typically being close to the cursor. Note that the context menu is only available when there is geometry to right-click.
Import via Top Menu
The same Import menu is also available in the top Sketchup menu bar:Extensions > Holygon Compfire > Import > ...
The top menu has the advantage of being more persistent. It is available even when there is nothing in the model to right-click.
The top menu is also useful for setting reusable shortcuts for importing your favourite Items.
Note that the top Import menu updates only at Sketchup restart. This is a limitation of Sketchup itself. If you have edited Library Item definitions, or added new Items to your Library, you will need to restart Sketchup before accessing them via the top import menu.
Import via Finder
The Finder window is Compfire's main interface for browsing and importing Items. The Finder should update its Item list without restart. You can access and import new Items via the Finder at any time.
Learn Items
There are no Learn command pages for your items. Each user may have different items.
