Learn Compfire — License. Release License…

Release License…

Deactivate your currently active license on this computer.

Useful for transferring your license to your other computer.

Type:  License
Menu:  Extensions > Compfire > License > Release License…

Deactivating frees up any currently active license seat from this computer, for subsequent activation on another computer.

Release before Uninstalling

You should always release your license before uninstalling Compfire, Sketchup, or the operative system from your computer.

Internet Connection Required

Note that an internet connection is required to deactivate.

Why Deactivate?

A Compfire license activation is per computer.

If you activate a seat on your computer, your seat is kept active and tied to that computer forever, until you decide to manually release it.

If you wish to instead use Compfire on a second computer, you must first release your license seat from your first computer, and then activate it on the second computer.

Currently, users may release and activate license seats only from within the installed software.

Let's say that you activate a Compfire license seat on your computer. Then, for some reason, you uninstall Compfire, Sketchup, or the operative system.

Your license seat will still remain locked to that computer.

However, if you uninstalled say Sketchup, you can no longer access Compfire, let alone the Release License command.

Currently, if you have locked yourself out of your activation, the only way for you access that license seat is to contact Holygon Support.

Deactivations are Limited

Standard licenses are licensed for one single individual user, on one machine at a time. For security reasons, the number of deactivations is limited. If you deactivate again and again, you may lock yourself out of deactivations. If you no longer can deactivate an active license, contact Holygon Support.

Unable to Deactivate?

If you for any reason are unable to deactivate your license, contact Holygon, or [](productor_command:open_support_ticket) and Holygon will help you.
