Open Catalog…

Launch the Catalog spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is a simple yet powerful way to overview, structure, and edit large Item libraries.

Menu:  Extensions > Compfire > Edit > Open Catalog…

Know your Spreadsheet

When you are working with high-value asset libraries, your catalog is the one document that ties it all together. Get to know it well.

Many item properties, you can edit directly in the catalog spreadsheet.

When you save the spreadsheet, Compfire will apply them next, and use them next.

In the catalog, try changing an unused Item's instance name, or tag. Save the catalog. Then try to import the item.

Experiment

Do not be afraid of experimenting. Experimenting is the best way to learn.

Edit (almost) Anything

Common spreadsheet editors offer lots of ways of manipulating cell data, and a good visualisation of data.

You can also freely reposition columns into another order.

Do Not Edit ITEM cells

The cells in the catalog's ITEM column tie together the Sketchup files that hold your items, with their Compfire metadata properties. Do not change the values in the ITEM column.

Do Not Edit Columnheads

Do not edit columnheads themselves. Compfire uses these to access data.
