Turn On

Rotate selection by hovering near a corner handle. When a blue circle appears, click and drag to turn.

Move On

To move selection, hover cursor inside spreadplane until it is hihglighted yellow. Then click it, and move the cursor to move selected containers.

Modes Plant and Stick

Spread has two different modes, Plant and Stick.

The default mode is Plant. This mode will auto-drop items that are being spread.

Plant mode is useful when working with items that should sit on the ground level or on Landshape terrain surface. For instance when working with trees and vegetation.

A second mode is called Stick. In mode Stick, Spread will only change items's position in plan, while keeping height. In Stick, each item will keep its elevation throughout Spread operations. This can be useful when working with items that should keep their elevation. For instance snowflakes, flying birds, other airborne objects. Or, if you are modelling an underwater world, perhaps a school of fish.

To toggle between Plant and Stick, hit key F8 or Alt. You may toggle modes anytime while in the Spread tool.
