Sweep

Quickgrade terrain along selected paths.

Useful to create elevation for paths or roads. Input path controls both shape and elevation.

Type:  Pick, Shape
Menu:  Extensions > Landshape > Main > Sweep

Input

  • One or several groups containing an edgepath that is open or closed.

Input Elevation Matters

The heights that your input edgepath goes through will control the local elevations of your Sweep. Draw and position your path carefully.

Parameters

Width

Width is the total width of your Sweep in the direction of travel.

Blend

Blend is the percentage of the Width that is transitioning to the surrounding terrain.

Read Statusbar and VCB for Details

  • When Sweep is active, Sketchup's statusbar will show the current state and options. Read the statusbar carefully.
  • The VCB and its label shows any current parameters. Right after a Sweep commit, try typing different values and hit Enter to control the Sweep effect.
  • To explore the tool, open a new sandbox model. Plot-quake a random terrain. Then try Sweep on it. Don't be afraid to play around!
